Job Descriptions/Qualifications:
The Help Desk Analyst provides front-line Faculty and Staff computing support for the various Windows (2000/XP) and Macintosh (OS9/OSX) platforms supported by User Services. Requests for computing assistance are typically received in the form of telephone requests, e-mail requests and walk-in customers. Analysts are expected to be punctual, possess excellent customer service skills, have a diligent work ethic, follow internal procedures, and work independently when handling support requests.
The Help Desk Analyst must have excellent people, telephone, and communications skills, and must be able to convey technical terms and procedures to non-technical people. They must also be able to work in a fast paced hectic environment, and do so with a pleasant demeanor. Analysts must have strong working knowledge of Windows and/or Macintosh operating systems, and must have knowledge of PC and/or Macintosh hardware (preferably experience supporting both in a technical capacity). Other requirements include knowledge of, and experience with the following: remote connectivity, basic networking technology, Microsoft networking, Microsoft Office applications, and Internet applications.

Availability: 15 hrs/week with minimum 3 hrs/shift
Job Descriptions/Qualifications:
Position entails providing technical installation of new computers, including transfer of data from old machines to new primarily in a Windows XP environment (some Macintosh). Employees will be working with Faculty and Staff on a daily basis, and must be professional, personable, and motivated.
Must have excellent people, phone and communication skills; must be able to convey technical terms to non-technical people, have strong working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP operating systems (Macintosh is a bonus), as well as Windows hardware and peripherals. Applicant should also have working knowledge of basic networking and MS Office applications.
Candidates MUST be able to work 3 hour minimum shifts. A minimum of 4 to 5 shifts per week is required. Longer shifts or back to back shifts of at 6 hours are acceptable.
This is a fast paced, project based, team environment with a strict deadline. The ability to work on a team and follow set project procedures is required. Experience with set-up of new computing equipment is desired, but not required. We will happily train you if you if you meet the above criteria. Work study is preferred, but not required for these positions. Be sure to bring a copy of your Financial Aid award letter and your resume.
