Windows Mobile Smart Phone Tips

Don't set up multiple syncs

Setting your smart phone to synchronize with Exchange e-mail server through multiple channels can cause problems, typically duplication of e-mails, contacts, tasks, or calendar entries. It should only be necessary to synchronize with the Exchange server through your wireless connection (assuming your service plan includes data). Setting up synchronization through your PC (via USB cable) as well may cause duplication. To avoid duplication only have your smart phone set to either synchronize wirelessly or through your PC.

Schedule Active Sync

To ensure your Exchange e-mail, calendar, tasks, and contacts are up to date; and to avoid missing calls due to data usage see our schedule active sync documentation.

Try a soft reset first

If your smart phone is not working properly try performing a soft reset. A soft reset does not erase any data or configuration. It is equivalent to a reboot of your workstation computer. The procedure for a soft reset may vary with different phones, but for most Windows Mobile phones you can remove and then insert the battery to perform a soft reset.
