| October 1-November 30, 2007 | Priority undergraduate application filing period for fall 2008 admission. Applicants to "impacted" majors must apply during this period. Welcome to Admissions — Chico Preview Day on October 27. |
| December 15, 2007 | Last day to apply for a bachelor's degree expected in December 2008. |
| January 1-March 2, 2008 | Priority filing period for 2008/2009 financial aid applications. |
| February 1 | Last day to apply for 2008/2009 scholarships. |

Graduate and Credential Programs application deadline for fall 2008 admission. |
| April 4 | Last day to file an appeal for academic reinstatement for fall 2008. |

Registration (Priority), check the Class Schedule for registration begin/end dates. |
| June 10 - July 24 | Orientation programs and academic advising for new students. |
| July 30 | Registration (Priority) Deadline for fall 2008. |
| July 30 | Electronic Funds Transfer. Last day to submit authorization to Student Financial Services to have EFT effective for August 21 disbursement. |
| July 31 | Registration Fee Payment Deadline. Students who fail to pay fees or do not have sufficient financial aid to pay fees will be assessed a late fee, will not be able to add classes during Registration Add/Drop Period, and may have classes dropped for non-payments. |
| August 4-September 5 | Registration Add/Drop Period. You must have paid fees or have sufficient anticipated aid to pay fees to add classes. |
| August 20-22 | Orientation Activity for new students - Getting Connected. |
| August 20 | Academic year begins; all faculty on duty. |
| August 21 | Financial Aid Refunds. First financial aid refunds disbursed by Electronic Funds Transfer or mail to students who have met all processing requirements and who have a credit balance after total charges are paid. |
| August 24 | Last day to drop all classes to receive a full refund (less an administrative fee). |
| August 25 | Fall Classes Begin. |
| August 25 | Term withdrawals on or after this date (but by October 27) will be eligible for a pro-rata refund of registration fees and non-resident tuition. |
| September 1 | Labor Day -- campus closed. |
| September 5 | Last day to add or drop classes without special permission of instructor. Students need a serious and compelling reason to add and drop classes after this date, and must use the COP process. Last day to drop classes (if remaining enrolled) to receive financial credit. |
| September 19 | Census Date -- no adding, dropping of classes, or changing of grade option beyond this date without a serious and compelling reason approved by the instructor, department chair, and college dean. |
| September 19 | Deadline for master’s degree students who are not regularly enrolled to register for adjunct enrollment. Last day for Open University students to pay fees without late charge. Last day to apply for a master’s degree expected in December 2008. |
| September 30 | A late fee for each submission of a Change of Program (COP) form begins. |
| October 10 | Last day to submit undergraduate Special Major application to be effective fall 2008. |
| October 17 | Last day to apply without a late charge for a California teaching credential expected in December 2008. |
| October 27 | Withdrawals after this date will not receive any financial credit for refund. |
| November 11 | Veterans Day Observed -- no classes held. |
| November 24-28 | Thanksgiving vacation -- no classes held. |
| December 1 | Last day for master's degree candidates to take oral/comprehensive examination, submit thesis/terminal project, and submit final progress sheet to Graduate Programs. |
| December 1-December 19 | Dropping classes permitted only because of serious illness or accident and with the approval of the college dean. |
| December 15-19 | Final Exam Week -- see Final Examination Schedule in the Class Schedule. |
| December 15-January 5, 2009 | Fall semester grades due in Student Records and Registration Office. Deadline is noon, January 5, 2009. |
| December 22-January 2, 2009 | Winter vacation -- campus closed. |
| December 31 | Fall 2008 semester ends. Official fall semester graduation date. |
