October 1-November 30, 2009 Priority Undergraduate Application Filing Period for fall 2010 admission. Applicants to "impacted" majors must apply during this period. Welcome to Admissions — Chico Preview Day on October 24.
December 15, 2009 Last day to apply for 2010/2011 scholarships.
Last day to apply for a bachelor's degree expected in December 2010.
January 1-March 2, 2010 Priority filing period for 2010/2011 financial aid applications.
March 1

Graduate and Credential Programs application deadline for fall 2010 admission.
April 2 Last day to file an appeal for academic reinstatement for fall 2010.

April 12-July 28

Registration (Priority), check the Class Schedule for registration begin/end dates.

June 8 - July 27 Orientation programs and academic advising for new students.
July 28 Electronic Funds Transfer. Last day to submit authorization to Student Financial Services to have EFT effective for August 19 disbursement.
July 28 Registration (Priority) Deadline for fall 2010.
July 29 Registration Fee Payment Deadline. Students who fail to pay fees or do not have sufficient financial aid to pay fees will be assessed a late fee, will not be able to add classes during Registration Add/Drop Period, and may have classes dropped for non-payments.
August 2-September 3 Registration Add/Drop Period. You must have paid fees or have sufficient anticipated aid to pay fees to add classes.
August 18-20 Orientation Activity for new students - Getting Connected.
August 18 Academic year begins; all faculty on duty.
August 19 Financial Aid Refunds. First financial aid refunds disbursed by Electronic Funds Transfer or mail to students who have met all processing requirements and who have a credit balance after total charges are paid.
August 22 Last day to drop all classes to receive a full refund (less an administrative fee).
August 23 Fall Classes Begin.
August 23 Term withdrawals on or after this date (but by October 25) will be eligible for a pro-rata refund of registration fees and non-resident tuition.
September 6 Labor Day -- campus closed.
September 3 Last day to add or drop classes without special permission of instructor. Students need a serious and compelling reason to add and drop classes after this date, and must use the COP process. Last day to drop classes (if remaining enrolled) to receive financial credit.
September 17 Census Date -- no adding, dropping of classes, or changing of grade option beyond this date without a serious and compelling reason approved by the instructor, department chair, and college dean.
Deadline for master’s students who are not regularly enrolled to register for adjunct enrollment. Last day for Open University students to pay fees without late charge. Last day to apply for a master’s degree expected in December 2010.
September 28 A late fee for each submission of a Change of Program (COP) form begins.
October 8 Last day to submit undergraduate Special Major application to be effective fall 2010.
October 15 Last day to apply without a late charge for a California teaching credential expected in December 2010.
October 25 Withdrawals after this date will not receive any financial credit for refund.
November 11 Veterans Day -- no classes held.
November 22-26 Thanksgiving vacation -- no classes held.
November 29 Last day for master's degree candidates to take oral/comprehensive examination, submit thesis/terminal project, and submit final progress sheet to Graduate Studies.
November 29-December 17 Dropping classes permitted only because of serious illness or accident and with the approval of the college dean.
December 13-17 Final Exam Week -- see Final Examination Schedule in the Class Schedule.
December 13-January 3, 2011 Fall semester grades due in Student Records and Registration Office. Deadline is noon, January 3.
December 18-January 2, 2011 Winter vacation -- campus closed.
December 31 Fall 2010 semester ends. Official fall semester graduation date.
