| May 15, 2009 | Last day to apply for a bachelor's degree expected in May 2010. |
| August 1-31, 2009 | Priority Undergraduate Application Filing Period for spring 2010 admission. Applicants to "impacted" majors must apply this month. |
| September 15, 2009 | Graduate and Credential Programs application deadline for spring 2010 admission. |
| September 18, 2009 | Last day to file an appeal for academic reinstatement for spring 2010. |
| October 19-December 4, 2009 | Registration (Priority), check the Class Schedule for registration begin/end dates. |
| December 4, 2009 | Registration (Priority) Deadline for Jan. and spring. |
| December 10, 2009 | Registration Fee Payment Deadline.Students who fail to pay fees or do not have sufficient financial aid to pay fees will be assessed a late fee, will not be able to add classes during Registration Add/Drop Period, and may have classes dropped for non-payment. Dec 9 last day for EFT Authorization if it has not been done yet. |
| January 4-February 5, 2010 | Registration Add/Drop Period. You must have paid fees or have sufficient anticipated financial aid to pay fees to add classes. |
| January 21-22 | Orientation Activity for new students - Getting Connected. |
| January 21 | Spring semester begins; all faculty on duty. Financial Aid Refunds. First financial aid refunds disbursed by Electronic Funds Transfer or mail to students who have met all processing requirements and who have a credit balance after total charges are paid. |
| January 24 | Last day to drop classes to receive a full refund (less an administrative fee). |
| January 25 | Spring Classes Begin. |
| January 25 | Term withdrawal on or after this date (but by April 7) will be eligible for a pro-rata refund of registration fees and non-resident tuition. |
| February 5 | Last day to add or drop classes without special permission of instructor. Students will need a serious and compelling reason to add and drop classes after this date, and must use the COP process. Last day to drop classes (if remaining enrolled) to receive financial credit. |
| February 19 | Census Date -- no adding, dropping of classes, or changing of grade
option beyond this date without a serious and compelling reason approved
by the instructor, department chair, and college dean. Deadline for masters degree students who are not regularly enrolled to register for adjunct enrollment. Last day for Open University students to pay fees without late charge. Last day to apply for a masters degree expected in May 2010. |
| March 1 | A late fee for each submission of a Change of Program (COP) form begins. |
| March 12 | Last day to submit undergraduate Special Major application to be effective spring 2010. |
| March 15-19 | Spring vacation -- no classes held. |
| March 31 | César Chávez Day -- campus closed. |
| April 7 | Withdrawal after this date will not recieve any financial credit for refund. |
| April 16 | Last day to apply without a late charge for a California teaching credential expected in May or August 2010. |
| April 23 | Last day for master's degree candidates to take oral/comprehensive examination, submit thesis/terminal project, and submit final progress sheet to Graduate Studies. |
| May 3-21 | Dropping classes permitted only because of serious illness or accident and with the approval of the college dean. |
| May 17-21 | Final Exam Week -- see Final Examination Schedule in the Class Schedule. |
| May 17-31 | Spring semester grades due in Student Records and Registration Office. Deadline is noon, May 31. |
| May 20-23 | Commencement. |
| May 31 | Memorial Day -- campus closed. |
| May 31 | Spring 2010 semester and academic year ends. Official spring semester graduation date. |
