Program Portfolio: M.A. in Psychology: Pupil Personnel Services Program

The M.A. in Psychology with the Option in Applied Psychology includes course work in preparation for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential for school psychologist authorization.

Graduate level work in School Psychology/Pupil Personnel Services has a long and distinguished history at California State University, Chico.  The program was founded by Dr. Hugh M. Bell and was the first graduate program offered by the Department of Psychology.  The School Psychology program is accredited both by the state of California and the National Association of School Psychologists, and prepares trainees for excellent employment prospects as school psychologists with a California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology. We are particularly interested in attracting students with backgrounds in or knowledge of minority languages and cultures to help meet the tremendous need for such school psychologists in California’s schools.
