WASC on Culture of Evidence

One of the purposes of the WASC accreditation process is to promote within institutions a culture of evidence where indicators of performance are regularly developed and data collected to inform institutional decision making, planning, and improvement.  Institutions are expected to conduct sustained, evidence-based, and participatory discussions about educational and institutional effectiveness.  The results of institutional inquiry, research, and data collection are to be used to establish priorities at different levels of the institution, and to revise institutional purposes, structures, and approaches to teaching, learning, and scholarly work.
