Campus Irrigation Project

CSU, Chico's commitment to sustainability includes a dedication to conserving water on campus. In June 2008, Governor Schwarzenegger declared a statewide drought (Executive Order S-06-08), emphasizing the need for immediate conservation efforts. One of the best ways to reduce water use is to design and maintain efficient irrigation systems throughout campus. Staff in Facilities Management and Services are working with faculty and students in the College of Agriculture to assess and retrofit campus irrigation systems. The Web page links above provide further information about CSU, Chico's water conservation strategies through the Campus Irrigation Project.
