Note on the watercolors: These are based on Onodera's experiences working at the Millay Colony for the Arts. She has returned and spent time working during the off-seasons after her Artist in Residence in 2008.  Edna's Hill references Edna St. Vincent Millay and the surrounding land where the Millay Colony is located. Suzanne Onodera was born in Berkeley, CA and attended the California College of the Arts, Oakland, CA (BFA, Painting 1989, High Distinction) and the School of the Art Institute, Chicago, IL (1987). She has been an Artist-in-Residence at The Millay Colony for the Arts, NY; Vermont Studio Center, VT; Acadia National Park, ME and Caldera, OR.  Her work has been published in Cheers for Muses, Contemporary Asian American Women (2007) and Painted Landscapes: Contemporary Views (2013, Schiffer). Galleries include Seager Gray Gallery, CA, Costello Childs, AZ, and Corners Gallery, Ithaca, NY.  Onodera lives in Upstate New York.
