Is your Department in Need of Shredding and Disposing of Sensitive and Confidential Documents?

The Department of Warehouse Operations & Mail Services and Norcal Shred are pleased to announce a new service is now available to all campus departments. Norcal Shred, with the assistance of Warehouse staff, will shred and dispose of your sensitive and confidential documents. How can your department take advantage of this service?

  • All sensitive and confidential documents must be placed in a box, sealed, and labeled “SHREDDING”. Please include your department name.
  • Complete a Service Request Form with Facilities Management and Services at www.csuchico.edu/fms/Services/services.html to request a pick-up and delivery of the boxes to the Warehouse.
  • Warehouse Staff will transfer the boxes to a secured and locked container located at the Warehouse.
  • Norcal Shred comes to campus, and with the assistance of Warehouse Staff, will shred and dispose of all sensitive and confidential documents.

Acceptable Confidential Items That Can Be Shredded

  • Office, Copy, and Light Colored Paper containing confidential information
  • Bulk Computer Printouts (Green Bar)
  • File Folders with Tab ACCO Fasteners
  • Paper Clips
  • Staples

Other Items That Can Be Picked up and Recycled by AS Recycle

  • Office, copy, and light colored paper not containing confidential information
  • Styrofoam
  • Plastic (all types)
  • Metal
  • Magazines
  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard
  • Binders
