Japan
is most often thought of by westerners as a country with very similar traditions
to China. While this is somewhat true since they are so close together,
there are some major differences especially in their diets. Being
an island country Japanese diets contain a large amount of seafood.
Japan is known worldwide for its sushi.
The Japanese have many customs and
traditions when it comes to eating. The one that I found most interesting
is that of the order in which they eat their food. From pickled (sonomo),
to roughish (sashimi), to boiled (clear soup), to simmered (tofu with potato),
to grilled (marinated beefsteak), to fried (tempura), and finishing up
