Kudos at the 2001 Conference

2002

Sally Ayer (CSU. Fresno)  For 27 years of service protecting and defending our country as a US. Army Reserve Warrant Officer. She retired from this role September 1, 200l.

Ellen Carlton (Sonoma St. U.)  Promotion to full professor at Sonoma State University in June, 2001.

Sue Durrant (Washington St. U.) Received a NAGWS Honor Award at the April, 2001 AAHPERD meeting.

Lynne Emery (Cal. Pomona Univ.) For voluntary service to the Pasadena Historical Society. She organized their archives and will soon start organizing the Historical Perspectives of Women in Pasaedna. .

Penny McCullagh (CSU. Hayward) Recently elected to the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

Krissa Baylor (Thomas Russell School in Milpitas, CA) Recently promoted to the rank of "Commander in the U.S, Navy. One of her specialties includes the detection of weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological, and radiological warfare.)

Bonnie Bevans (CSU. Fresno) Staying active and involved in physical activity following extensive knee surgery by completing a bicycle tour of the wine country in October 2001 and her inspiration as a mentor to younger bicyclists.

Cathy Buell (San Jose St. Univ.)   Now serving as department chair of the Secondary education Credential program at San Jose St. U. Currently serving as Vice President of NAPAHE and conference manager of NAPAHE's January, 2002 conference. Published an article in the August, 2001 JOHPERD titled "Content Literacy in Physical Education."

Terry Coblentz (Glendale College) Completion of the 8th Aids research fund raiser bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles (for the 2nd time) and raised $7,000.00. She also was a member of the Senior Softball World Series Championship team.

Gail Evans (San Jose St. U.)  Selected as Interim Dean for Undergraduate Studies at San Jose State University.

Lynn Gangone (Guest and WSPECW's organizational analyst): For her completion ot two AVON, Breast Cancer walks held in the Washington D.C. area.

Diane Kalliam (San Francisco St. U.) Has ridden her bike in support of lukemia research on a number of occasions. She has also served as a trainer and mentor for women preparing to ride for these 100 mile fund raiser events.

Emily Wughalter (San Jose St. U.) Will be the Amy Morris Homans' lecturer at NAPEHE, 2002 in San Antonio, Texas.
