How do you learn? Do you teach in the style that you learn? Who are your students? What do they expect from your course? How do they learn? How can you adapt your classroom style and engage the learners in an effective online environment? How can you structure web course materials to take advantage of these differences in learning? Lets discuss our teaching styles or teaching goals and how we think technology may help you augment, change, rethink, or otherwise alter your teaching philosophies. Refer to the handouts on teaching that we have provided if you like. |

Teaching, Learning, and Technology: Some Examples and Some Guidelines |
We will look at some examples of how technology can enhance student learning, how it can allow us to do better what we already do, and how it can help us teach and our students learn in ways we havent imagined yet. We will also begin planning how we might use some of these protocols in our own teaching. |

Discuss protocols for rethinking an entire class; then work as a member of one of the four small groups to rethink a class. Fill out the "Rethinking Our Courses" handout; then present your ideas to the group. Confer with your colleagues on their plans. |
