Questions to Consider While Reading Kaffir Boy
Write two typed pages on question 1.
1. Analyze Kaffir Boy in terms of the major elements of
the Apartheid system. Some elements are discussed in the text petty
Apartheid, Native Lands Act, and government-sanctioned racism preceding
the deKlerk reforms. (You may need to consult another source to
define all the above aspects of apartheid.)

relations does Mark Methabane construct while living in South
Africa? Methabane now resides in Kernersville, NC and has written
two books on his experiences as a South African living in the
United States.
3. From reading Kaffir Boy what might you imagine he discusses
in these books. What would be his feelings about race relations
on the CSU Chico campus?
4. What similarities and differences are there between the histories
of South Africa and the United States in the areas of race relations
which might influence a South African like Methabane's views?
