Holistic Goal

Quality of Life

A community asset that supports acedemic and community education, supports local food producers, and provides fresh vegetables for campus food services. Its management will exemplify innovative, environmentally-sound vegetable management methods. It will integrate with the management of other programs on the University Farm but will be self-sustaining with regard to its finacial budget.

Forms of Production

  • Trials and evaluation of diverse vegetable varieties
  • Productive, high quality crops for market
  • Educational programs and experience for grade schools, university and community
  • Collaboration with community programs, agencies and schools
  • Sales of produce that return enough revenue to fully support and enhance the program
  • Continued training for participants
  • Cooperative management support amoung faculty, staff, students, and community members
