DESCRIPTION:

  • Found along shorelines, rivers and lakes
  • The adults are predaceous or parasitic
  • The larvae are found in moist places such as: mud, sand, or decaying vegetation
  • Also found in littoral and open water zones of lakes, around margins especially in algal mats; streams and rivers margins
  • In detritus, tree holes, temporary pools, moist soil, salt marshes, marine beaches

  • Distribution is wide spread
