Riffle Sculpin Results
The sculpin population at Ponderosa Way was growing very slowly, but had a banner reproductive year following the big storm events of January 1997 and juveniles obviously survived the 1997/1998 high flows. So far they have failed to recolonize the site at the upper end of Bidwell Park, even though present upstream in good numbers and subjected to several flood events. Evidently riffle sculpins are not significantly displaced by extreme flow events in Big Chico Creek.
