The information in the September 2, 2005 update still holds, we are still accepting registrations with no late fee for the month of September.  We have no more 4 person rooms as of this date, I have requested more from Asilomar, but I do not expect to receive any more.  We still do have what we call 2 person rooms, these are rooms with 2 queen beds.  The normal rate for these rooms are $250/person. As it states on the registration form when the 4 person rooms are gone you have the option of 4 person/2 queen rooms (sharing a bed) or paying the additional $40 fee for a two person room.  If you want the 4 person rate and if you elect to share a bed please state who your room mate will be and that it is ok for you to share a bed with that person.  Both persons have to agree to this before we will arrange this type of accommodations.  There still has to be 3 or 4 persons in the room before we can give the 4 person rate of $210/ person.

As of September 2, 2005-- We are still taking registration for this years Forum.  We will waive the late fee for the month of September.  Starting October 1, 2005 we will expect a late fee to be paid with any registrations.  We only have a set number of rooms at Asilomar and when we run out of  rooms we will not be able to obtain any additional ones, so if you want to attend this years Forum be sure and get your registration in to guarantee your spot at the Forum.

Here it is ... you’ve all been waiting for it... the Registration Packet for the 2005 California 4-H State Leaders’ Forum.  (see  bottom of page for form download links)

Start making your plans NOW!  Talk with the 4-H leaders, staff and parents in your club and county, form a group and all come experience “4-H Connects” at the 2005 California State 4-H Leaders’ Forum.  The North Section Forum Committee has been working hard to create a forum that will be a fun, stimulating and educational event.  Come enjoy a weekend at the beautiful California State Park at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, CA in Monterey County.

2005 California State 4-H Leaders’ Forum that will have something for everyone; new leaders, experienced leaders, befuddled leaders, staff and parents.  Come share your 4-H community service, fundraising, project and any other ideas/activities with the 4-H leaders, staff and parents throughout the state of California and at the same time you can learn some new ideas to take back with you to your club and/or county.

This year the Forum Committee decided to focus on sharing ideas about the various ways that the 4-H Youth Development Program connects; staff, volunteers, youth, communities, rural, urban, leadership, citizenship, genders, cultures and so much more.  There will be opportunities to listen to outside speakers, attend a wide selection of workshops, view community service displays, and enjoy entertainment by 4-H members and staff.  There will be additional activities to fit the needs and interest of every 4-H Leader, Staff or Parent, including friendly competition at the Silent Auction.

There is still time left if you want to present a workshop that will be interesting and helpful to 4-H leaders, parents, and staff, especially if it fits our target topic, but certainly not limited to the target topic.  See the application form included in this information packet for full details.

The Community Action Event was so successful at the 2005 Western Regional 4-H Leaders' Forum that the 2005 State Leaders' Forum Committee has decided to hold a similar event.  We will have a slightly different focus and that will be on Community Service Projects that are already occurring in the California 4-H Program.  We would like to invite you to bring any table top or booth displays representing Community Service in your community, so please send in the attached form if you would like to participate.  There will also be some opportunities for hands on Community Service Projects while at the Forum.

Please note there maybe a few Craft Workshops that will have a fee for materials, presenters will collect these fees at the time of the workshops.  These workshops will be limited to 15 to 25 participants, depending on the workshop, and they will be on a first come, first serve basis.  The craft workshops have not been scheduled yet but more information will be coming out on all of the workshops in the Fall, 6 to 8 weeks before the forum.  Information will be included at that time on the limit and cost of each workshop and a schedule of all other workshops.

o  Forum registration is
DUE SEPTEMBER 1, 2005.  The reason for having the registration due this early is that we have to tell Asilomar the first part of September how many will be attending the Forum.  If we guess too many it will cost us financial penalties and if we do not guess enough there will be no rooms available, so the more forms we have the better the guess we can make.

o  All necessary forms are available for download at the bottom of this page.

We look forward to seeing all of you at Asilomar in 2005.

Note: If you download the Word documents and when you print them you are having page overflow, this is because your printer does not support the same margin settings as the one it was designed for.  The best thing to do is to download the PDF version, it should print ok on just about any printer. If you do not have the Adobe Reader to open the PDF files you can download one using the following link.
