If you wish to limit a PubMed search to nursing journals that are available online or in the Meriam Library, follow the steps below. The journals are also those that are identified by the CSU Chico Nursing Faculty as high priority.

Steps to limit your search:

  1. In PubMed note the "Search" pull-down menu. Change it from "PubMed" to "Journals".
  2. Add "new england journal of medicine" to the search term box.
  3. Select "Go".
  4. Select the small box next to "The New England Journal of Medicine".
  5. Change the "Send to" pull-down menu to "Search Box with Or". A new box with the journal name should appear.
  6. In the new box type a space and the word "OR" after the original search terms. It should now read: "N Engl J Med"[Journal:__jrid5985] OR
  7. Copy and paste the data below (in blue) into this new box after the OR separated by a space.
  8. Select the "Search PubMed" button found below the search box.
  9. Now that you've searched for all these journals, it is part of your search history and can easily be added as a limit to any PubMed search by using the "Advanced Search" option.
