Injury Scenario - Tibia page 2

A 19 year old female athlete sustained a fracture of the tibia and fibula. Surgery was performed using internal fixation to stabilize the fracture. Below are the X-rays taken 12 weeks after surgery.

			

Discuss the amount of bone healing present at this time. What rehabilitation techniques would be indicated at this point in the recovery? Also include what would be contraindicated.
