Proposal Guidelines
Due Date: October 10
Remember,
the annotated bibliography project is optional. For those of you who choose to
complete it, there are 200 points possible in the course. For those of you who chose
not to, 150 points are possible. Your final grade is based on the percentage of
the points possible that you earn.
This semester we will
study Europe, Middle America, South America and North Africa and Southwest
Asia. The topic for your annotated bibliography must occur in one of
those regions. Also, I will not accept papers about human trafficking.
Your proposal should
consist of 4 parts.
Introduction:
In several sentences
explain the global issue. Where is it located? Who does it involve?
What is the history of issue? How
did it develop? You will use your sources to help you write this.
Be certain to properly quote your sources and provide in text citations.
Research Question:
In one or two sentences
state your research question as a specific question.
Maps:
Your finished project
will include at least one map. In this section, you will describe what
maps you will use to answer your research question. A map that simply
locates your issue is not what I have in mind.
Sources:
In this section you will
list 4-5 sources that you have already found that will help you answer your
research question. You will use these sources to write your proposal's
introduction. You will also find many more sources as you continue your
research.
Proposals must be
submitted to my email address sbrady@csuchico.edu
in the body of an email, not as an attachment.
