Getting Information on a Corporation
You have been called on an interview by a corporation (publicly traded domestic company), and you would like to research and find some information about it to be better informed. EDGAR is a source maintained by the SEC that has information on about three fourths of such companies (Luckily, the company you pick has filed a 10-K form with the SEC) Access the latest 10-K filing for the corporation (of your choice) and obtain the following information. (two people should not have information on the same company.) 1.Headquarters (mailing address) 2.Main Products/Services sold 3.Top three executive officers and their position in the company 4.Net Revenues in the latest year for which information is provided 5.Earnings per share.
Write this up in a report using word, and e-mail it to me as an attachment before 5 pm Friday (3/21/98). You can find EDGAR if you go to Resources for Economists on the Internet. Start at the Economics Department Home Page:
http://www.csuchico.edu/econ/
Scroll down and click on Economic Links. Then select Resources for Economists on the Internet. Click on Contents, and use ^f to get the "find window," and search for EDGAR.
