Cara Campbell

Academic Advisor & Equity Initiatives Assistant Coordinator
Originating from Seattle, WA, Cara Campbell relocated to Chico, CA, and began her educational journey at Butte College. Transferring to Chico State, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Shortly after, Cara continued her educational pursuit at the same institution, where she completed her Master's in Social Work. Her thesis, titled, "The Struggle Is Real: The Imposter Syndrome and University Experience of Black Female Students at Chico State" highlights her commitment and advocacy for women of color in higher education.

Some of Cara’s accomplishments while pursuing her education include fulfilling an internship for CSU, Chico’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; TRIO-Student Support Services,  and the Safe Place and Wellness program at Butte College. Beyond her commitment to assisting students in their academic pursuits, Cara finds fulfillment in mobilizing positive changes through research. Her career goals include gaining a leadership position in higher education that will provide opportunities to establish holistic academic, cultural and professional assistance for underrepresented and students in crisis.
