Born and raised in Chico, Kaitlyn graduated from Sonoma State University in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration.
- Student Outreach & Recruitment, coordinating the student tour program and participated in the Summer Orientation Program.
Kaitlyn earned her M.A. in Education in 2012 with an emphasis in Curriculum & Instruction from CSU, Chico.

In 2018 she obtained her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Davis.
