the single most underestimated characteristic of a successful college experience."
– R.J. Light
Keyana was born and raised in Campbell, California. She is a transfer student from De Anza College and is now a Junior at Chico State. Her decision to major in Sociology stemmed from her love for people, cultures, and diversity. She has a passion for learning and hopes to one day dedicate her education to the study of Native American groups. She is involved in Chico’s Leadership Academy as well as the OnePsych Club. Keyana has enjoyed her experience at Chico State and is excited to be a part of the Academic Advising team. As a first-generation college student, Keyana understands how difficult college life can be. The positive experience she had with her own academic advisor encouraged her to want to help other students have successful and enjoyable educational experiences, too. She hopes to have a positive impact on other students and is looking forward to helping people pursue their dreams. In her free-time she enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, and going on drives.
