Pablo Soto

Interim Associate Director of New Student Advising
Pablo is originally from rural Northern California where he was born and raised. He began his educational journey by attending CSU, Chico as a transfer student from Sonoma State. While attending Chico State, he worked in construction as well as working as a Tutor and Mentor for various Pre-College Programs assisting low income and first-generation students. After graduating from Chico State, Pablo continued onto California State University, Bakersfield where he received a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology. Upon graduation, he returned home to CSU, Chico and became an Assistant Resident Community Coordinator for University Housing. After a short time there, he once again sought to pursue his passion in providing an educational path for low income and first generation students. Pablo moved to the Bay Area and became the Coordinator for an Upward Bound Program based out of Diablo Valley College where he provided a framework of success for disadvantaged students. Now that he is back at Chico State, he is eager to continue this work as an Academic Advisor. Outside of work, Pablo enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as playing soccer, running, and hiking.
