Logo Color Versions

Keyline ("Sticker") Logomark Usage

The keyline version of a logomark should be used in two different cases:

  1. When the color of the background matches parts of a logomark and causes them to blend in, disappear, or vibrate.

  2. When a logomark needs to reverse out in white.

All logomarks and lockups have a keyline version in the assets library. Do not reverse logomarks, always use the keyline version.

Why We Use Keyline Versions

Logo integrity and readability are two of the most important aspects of brand management, which is why the keyline logomarks must be used when displaying a logo on a dark background. Please read these explanations in order to understand why only the keyline logomarks must be used when displaying a logo on a dark background. Please note that in any keyline version, the shapes within the wildcat logo mark remain white (the background will not show through).

We do not place a color logo version on a dark background because low contrast severely impacts readability.

We do not simply change the color of a logomark to white when using it on a dark background because the logomark becomes a negative, which is hard for the brain to identify.

Black and White Usage

In cases where only black and white is being used, use only approved black and white logomarks. If the logomarks are being printed on a black background, use the keyline version.
