AI Strategy

Chico State’s AI Strategy focuses on guiding ethical practices, driving innovation, and empowering students, faculty and staff with AI knowledge and tools. This collaborative approach ensures AI supports the university’s mission of equity, accessibility, and innovation in education.

At Chico State, the AI Governance Committee ensures the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies aligns with the university’s values. The committee provides guidance to foster innovation while addressing equity, transparency, and security. Soon, it will share AI guidelines to support faculty, staff, and students in leveraging AI effectively across campus.

The AI Innovation (Tiger) Team at Chico State drives forward AI advancements and knowledge across campus. Recently, the team completed the Zammo AI chatbot for the Division of IT website, enhancing user support and engagement. Members Alex Wilson, Jim Kelly, Scott Cory, and Steve Krok collaborate to bring innovative AI solutions to life for the university community.

Coming soon: The AI Academy at Chico State! This exciting new program will provide students with hands-on experience using AI tools, exploring ethical applications, and solving real-world problems. Our goal is to train students to become AI ambassadors, sharing their knowledge with peers and preparing for a workforce increasingly shaped by AI innovation.
