Chico State Presidential Recognition of Global Engagement

Global competence is crucial for successful careers and citizenship in today’s world. Chico State offers many opportunities for such connection and growth, in and outside the classroom and on and off campus, to advance intercultural engagement and build global competence. This award helps students and employers identify and conceptualize the valuable knowledge and skills that Chico State students have gained through international engagement, which in turn, will assist them in their careers and life-long achievement. Employers are often most impressed by the international and intercultural experiences and skills that students describe as part of their university experience. At the university, we understand that these beneficial experiences are also co-curricular and not necessarily captured on a student’s transcript. Yet it is important to recognize students who systematically gain this additional skill set. Consequently, each year recipients will receive an official recognition from the President of the University. They will also be recognized on the International Education and Global Engagement website. 

The Chico State Presidential Recognition of Global Engagement is given to graduating seniors or graduate students with demonstrated achievement in language learning, cultural immersion, global perspectives, and cross-cultural learning and service. All students who complete the following requirements will receive the recognition.
