Kristine Mazzei

Kristine Mazzei serves as Vice President for University Advancement and CEO of the University Foundation at Chico State. She leads the university’s advancement efforts, including fundraising, alumni and donor engagement, marketing and communications, and the strategic management of the University Foundation. In partnership with President Steve Perez and campus leadership, she is advancing Chico State’s most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, Decide the Future, while elevating the university’s visibility and deepening community partnerships.

Mazzei brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education and nonprofit advancement. She previously served as Vice President for Central Development at the University of New Mexico Foundation, where she led teams responsible for regional development, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations, along with fundraising for museums, performing arts, and athletics.

From 2014 to 2018, Mazzei held leadership roles at Chico State, playing a pivotal role in launching the university’s first comprehensive campaign, Transform Tomorrow. Earlier in her career, she was managing partner at Valley Vision, a nonprofit based in Sacramento, where she led regional initiatives focused on agriculture, economic development, and sustainability.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from Bucknell University and a Master of Science from the University of California, Davis.
