December 11, 2024 – Campus to Resume Normal Operations on Thursday

Dear Campus Community,

Campus will resume normal operations tomorrow. University Police, Facilities Management and Services, and Environmental Health and Safety have approved Modoc Hall, Aymer J. Hamilton, and the Gateway Science Museum to open as usual.

We’d like to thank everyone for their understanding as the University responded to the impact of the fire at Bidwell Mansion. Some people have reported finding burnt artifacts and pages from the mansion that traveled by wind during the fire. If you find any items, California State Parks asks you to contact Ursula Filice at 530-922-0934. They are eager to recover and preserve any items that may have survived.

Please remember we have several resources on our campus that can help you process emotional responses to the fire. Students can access services at the WellCat Counseling Center via its 24/7 crisis hotline, 1-855-530-6802.  Faculty and staff can call LifeMatters, at 1-800-367-7474or www.mylifematters.com for 24/7 counseling and other services. Password: csuchico. For more information, go to www.csuchico.edu/eap.

Thank you,
Steve Perez
