October 22, 2024 – Employee Engagement Survey Reports and More

Dear Campus Community,

Thank you to everyone who attended the Employee Town Hall on October 1. It's been a busy fall, and we are making great progress on many campus initiatives. During the town hall, I shared the draft of the Chico State Playbook, which—with your valuable input—will form the basis of our new strategic plan. Additionally, we reviewed the draft of our Community Agreements and results of the Great Colleges to Work For employee engagement survey.

We've added a new section to the President's Office webpage to showcase these presidential initiatives. On the Employee Engagement page, you'll find the survey reports that many of you have expressed interest in reviewing. The reports provide a detailed look at our campus scores, along with an executive summary and additional insights from ModernThink, the company that conducted the survey.

I encourage you to take some time to explore the reports and consider joining one of the working groups dedicated to improving our performance in five key areas:

  • Confidence in Senior Leadership
  • Performance Management
  • Professional Development
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
  • Onboarding

In November, we will be launching an interactive employee engagement platform. This platform will showcase Chico State's commitment to building a strong, inspired, and caring workforce. It will also offer a deeper exploration of the Great Colleges to Work For survey and its benefits. And you'll have the opportunity to express your interest in joining one of the University-level working groups. Teams will be assembled starting in December, with the work set to begin in the spring semester.

I hope you'll consider joining me as we guide Chico State toward an even stronger future.

Thank you,
Steve Perez
