    Become a Peer Mentor

    The Peer Mentor position requires a commitment of 12-15 hours per week throughout the academic year (August through May) and requires that you take the UNIV 209 Peer Mentoring course taught each spring semester.

    Peer Mentors provide individual and group leadership, guidance, and support to first-year mentees in all aspects of student life, including academic, financial, personal, and familial challenges.

    Compensation: $17.90/hour (12-15 hours per week)

  • REACH Faculty Mentor

    Become a Faculty Mentor

    REACH Faculty Mentors commit to 4-6 hours per week throughout the academic year.

    Faculty Mentors provide guidance and support to the REACH Peer Mentor in addition to transitional support to a group of first-year mentees. Through this program, faculty will develop in these three areas: 

    1. Equity Focused Mentorship - Learn about support mechanisms for first-generation students, including strategies for inclusive mentoring, fostering belonging, and promoting academic self-efficacy 
    2. Collaborative Leadership - Work collaboratively with a Peer Mentor, co-leading discussions in UNIV 150 and engaging in their growth as a student and leader
    3. Expanded Campus Engagement & Impact - Deepen your understanding of student support services on campus and strengthen cross-campus relationships
    4. Compensation: Professional Development Stipend of $2,000 per semester
