Chico State Accreditation

Ensuring quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Accreditation Status

Chico State has been WSCUC/WASC accredited since 1954. WSCUC is the acronym for the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Senior College and University Commission, one of a few regional organizations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States. WSCUC is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which affirms that WSCUC standards and processes are consistent with CHEA's academic quality, improvement, and accountability expectations.

WSCUC last accredited Chico State in July 2019. WSCUC reviewed materials provided by the University and reaffirmed Chico State's accreditation for 8 years.

A Statement of Accreditation Status is posted on the WSCUC website.

QR codeWe invite the campus to review our draft Institutional Report and provide constructive feedback on how we can improve it. The report is 80 pages long, so we are providing a Reader's Guide to assist you in jumping to particular sections of interest.

A note on evidence and links: Throughout the draft, you will see parenthetical references to evidence (e.g., policies, data sources, reports, or websites). These links are not yet active in this review draft. Full evidence files and live links are being compiled for integration into the final report submission.

Please take a feedback survey to provide us with any suggestions or recommendations about the report draft. Deadline: Feedback survey closes Monday, June 1, at 12 PM (Pacific)
