Institutional Report

Chico State has submitted its Institutional Report to the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) as part of our comprehensive reaccreditation process.

The report provides an overview of Chico State’s accomplishments, challenges, and priorities and demonstrates how the University fulfills the WSCUC Standards. It highlights our commitment to student success, educational quality, assessment, and continuous improvement.

The report reflects the contributions and work of faculty, staff, administrators, and students across the University.

As we prepare for the WSCUC Team Visit on the 24th-26th of February 2027, we encourage the Chico State community to review the report and become familiar with the story it tells about our University and our ongoing commitment to student success and institutional improvement.

Distance Education Review Form

The Distance Education Review Form is a required component of Chico State’s WSCUC reaccreditation submission. It provides additional information about the University’s distance education programs, policies, practices, and oversight, and demonstrates how Chico State ensures the quality and effectiveness of distance education in support of student learning and success.

The form is submitted as a companion document to the Institutional Report and is reviewed by WSCUC as part of the accreditation process. It is not directly linked from the Institutional Report; unlike the Compliance with WSCUC Standards Form and Federal Review forms, which are referenced through the report’s Appendix, the Distance Education Review Form is provided separately.

Campus Engagement

The WSCUC institutional self-study is designed to be a collaborative and reflective process that engages the entire university community. To support broad participation, the WSCUC Steering Committee conducted three surveys during the self-study process to gather perspectives from university employees and students.

The surveys served the following purposes:

• Identify institutional initiatives and practices that demonstrate the university’s commitment to the WSCUC Core Commitments and Standards.
• Collect stories and examples from across campus that illustrate how programs, services, and collaborations support student learning and student success.
• Highlight areas of strength where the institution is making meaningful progress.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, including areas where additional attention, resources, or coordination may strengthen institutional effectiveness.

The responses provided valuable insights that informed the institutional self-study, helping the university both celebrate effective practices and reflect on opportunities to enhance programs, processes, and student outcomes.
