Finish in Four and Through in Two Program

Chico State has long been committed to providing entering first-time students the tools and support to graduate in a timely manner. By participating in one of these programs, students will receive:

  • Tailored academic advising
  • Priority course registration appointments
  • Guaranteed graduation in four or two years depending on admission status

First-Time Students (Finish In Four)
The Finish in Four and Through in Two Program (Assembly Bill 1205) enables Chico State to establish this pledge program which provides an opportunity for entering first-time students who are both interested and able to complete their baccalaureate degrees in four years.

Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) Students (Through In Two)
In addition, students who have been accepted with an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from a California Community College may complete their baccalaureate degrees in two years. The program is limited to students who are residents of California.

Program Details

  • Through in Two

    The two year pledge program is for transfer students entering with a completed Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) interested in completing their remaining requirements in two years.

    Benefits
    Students transferring into a similar program as their completed ADT who choose to participate in the program will receive a variety of benefits including:

    • Tailored Academic Advising
    • Priority Course Registration Appointments
    • Guaranteed graduation in no more than two years

    Student Conditions
    Students who choose to participate in the program must meet the following conditions:

    • Be a transfer student with a verified Associate's Degree for Transfer (ADT) pursuing a similar major at CSU, Chico
    • Be a California resident
    • Enroll in classes during the established priority registration period and pay fees by the required deadlines
    • Complete 30 degree applicable units each academic year (may include winter and summer sessions)
    • Maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA each term (including winter and summer sessions)
    • Maintain a minimum 2.00 major GPA
    • Meet with the Finish in Four and Through in Two advisor in Academic Advising Programs
    • Meet with a faculty major advisor
    • Complete a two-year educational plan using Degree Planner within the Student Center

    Pledge Forms
    Eligible students will receive an email from the Finish in Four and Through in Two advisor at the beginning of their first semester. Students will be required to submit a Finish in Four and Through in Two Pledge Form. 

    Statement of your interest does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Depending on volume of interest, space in the program may be limited.

  • Finish in Four

    Beginning in fall 2018, the four year pledge program is for first-time students in one of the following majors:

    • Business Administration (all options) *added Fall 2020
    • Communication Sciences and Disorders
    • English (all options)

    Benefits
    Students in these majors who choose to participate in the program will receive a variety of benefits including:

    • Tailored Academic Advising
    • Priority Course Registration Appointments
    • Guaranteed graduation in no more than four years

    Student Conditions
    Students who choose to participate in the program must meet the following conditions:

    • Be a California resident and meet one of the following three conditions:
      • be a low-income student
      • be a graduate from a high school located in a community that is underrepresented in college attendance
      • be a first-generation college student
    • Enroll in classes during the established priority registration period and pay fees by the required deadlines
    • Complete 30 degree applicable units each academic year (may include winter and summer sessions)
    • Maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA each term (including winter and summer sessions)
    • Maintain a minimum 2.00 major GPA
    • Meet with the Finish in Four and Through in Two advisor in Academic Advising Programs
    • Meet with a faculty major advisor
    • Complete a four-year educational plan using Degree Planner within the Student Center

    Applications
    Eligible students can indicate interest on their admissions application. Students will be required to submit a Finish in Four and Through in Two Pledge Form.
