Public Health and Health Services Administration Department

The Department of Public Health and Health Services Administration provides students an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Students can choose from a degree in Public Health or Health Services Administration. Both prepare students for entry-level positions in the health industry.

    Make a difference in health care—without a stethoscope. The health services administration major at Chico State, one of only three accredited undergraduate programs in California, prepares you to lead and manage in one of today’s fastest-growing industries.

    This certificate provides essential training for healthcare professionals in administrative positions and students from other fields, with a flexible program that can be finished within one year.

    Help people live full, healthy lives. The public health program covers important services, like healthcare, mental health, nutrition, and assisted living. It also helps you understand the big picture. It connects the dots between the air we breathe, access to clean water and nutrition, and the state of public infrastructure—all things that affect our quality of life.

    Public health touches everything from the air we breathe to the water we drink to the roads we travel. It’s about improving health on every level—helping people in hospitals, mental health services, and medical care; tackling big-picture challenges like disease prevention and cleaner environments; and building safer communities.
