In December 2018, seven MBA students from California State University, Chico, enrolled in the MGMT 644 ("Seminar in Project Management") course and subsequently took the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exam. They achieved a 100% pass rate, significantly surpassing the national average of 61%.
The CAPM certification is a valuable credential that distinguishes professionals in the job market, enhancing credibility and effectiveness when working with project teams. It is particularly beneficial for those with less project management experience, as it demonstrates a solid understanding of project management fundamentals.
Chico State's MBA program offers a Project Management option that prepares students for both the CAPM and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exams. This option is especially attractive to students from engineering and construction management backgrounds, as both certifications are recognized for their value and potential to increase earning potential.
The success of Chico State's MBA students in achieving a 100% pass rate on the CAPM exam underscores the program's quality and the dedication of its faculty and students. Such certifications not only open doors to increased job opportunities but also equip graduates with the skills to lead projects that meet organizational goals effectively.
