There is one certificate and two badges offered by the Seufferlein Sales Program:

Professional Sales Certificate

Differentiate yourself with our 21-unit sales certificate.

The 21-credit Professional Sales Certificate is a great way to differentiate yourself in today’s competitive job market.

The certificate is comprised of one foundation course, five required core courses, and one elective course. Check out the complete course requirements for the Certificate in Professional Sales, and be sure to meet with a business advisor in the virtual office hours.

Core Requirements can be completed once and count towards the Professional Sales Certificate and both badges. All three use the same application form as the first step.

Steps for a Sales Certificate

Earning your Professional Sales Certificate is easy! Just follow the steps below.

First, students must complete and submit an Application Form.

Next, students must fill out a Plan Change Form to declare their intent to earn the certificate. Visit Business Advising in Glenn Hall 321 or open a new window and follow the steps below. This form must be submitted PRIOR to filing for graduation.

  • Visit the Plan Change Form website.
  • Click on the Plan Change Form (Current Students) link under the Current Students header.
  • Enter your portal username and password.
  • Click on the "Certificate" button.
  • Select "ADD (select to add an additional Major, Minor or Certificate)."
  • Proceed to the drop down box and select “Professional Sales Certificate.”
  • Click the “Save/Print” button on the bottom right.
  • Email the form to the Business Advising at businessadvisor@csuchico.edu or take a physical copy to Glenn 321.

Students must complete 21 units of required coursework. Be sure to meet with Business Advising to make sure you're on the right track! Students must also meet the SSP's GPA requirements:

  • Sales Certificate Classes: minimum 2.5 GPA with no less than a "C" in any core sales course
  • Cumulative: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 upon graduation

Students must fulfill the Sales Competency Requirement by attending

  1. Attend 3 Core workshops
  2. Attend 2 Networking events
  3. Attend 2 Development events
  4. Complete an exit survey

Professional Leadership Badges

The Seufferlein Sales Program (SSP) is offering students the opportunity to earn a Badge in Analytical and/or Communicative Leadership. The Analytical Badge assists students with their technical skills allowing them to deal with areas such as excel much easier. The Communicative Badge aids students with their interpersonal skills empowering them to navigate the sales world. Participants will develop skills to increase their job readiness and marketability in areas that recruiters have identified as desirable. This opportunity is open to ALL students, regardless of major.

Earning your Professional Leadership Certificate will help you:

  • Develop leadership skills that employers recruiting at Chico State have identified as desirable
  • Learn how to describe your skills and experiences on your resume and Career Fairs
  • Network with employers and alumni
  • Get recognition and certification for demonstration of your talents and abilities
  • Luke Seufferlein (center) presents a Real Estate in Sales workshop for students in the Seufferlein Sales Program

    Analytical Leadership Badge

    To earn your Analytical Leadership Badge, you must complete the following:

    1. Core requirements
    2. Attend How to Excel-Part I and How to Excel-Part II workshops
  • students connect with businesses at a SSP Career Fair during the “Hawaiian themed” Seufferlein Sales Program (SSP) Chico State Sales Invitational competition

Get started on your Professional Leadership Badges today! Just follow the steps below.

First, students must complete and submit an Application Form.

Next, students must complete the core requirements:

  1. Attend 3 Core workshops
  2. Attend 2 Networking events
  3. Attend 2 Development events
  4. Complete an exit survey .

  • Students pursuing the Certificate in Analytical Leadership must attend How to Excel-Parts 1 and 2.
  • Students pursuing the Certificate in Communicative Leadership must attend In-Person Communication Workshop.
  • You can find event and workshop dates on our Calendar of Events.

The last step is to complete an exit survey created to help you reflect on your time in the SSP, as well as provide us valuable feedback on your experience. The exit survey will be emailed to you during your last semester before graduation.
