The Clinic for Communication Disorders (CCD) is located on the Chico State campus and provides both diagnostic and rehabilitative services for individuals with communication disorders.

About the Clinic

    Free Diagnostic and Intervention Services

    As of August 2019, the Clinic for Communication Disorders (CCD) no longer charges a fee for service. In an effort to serve the north state most effectively and without restriction, all diagnostic and intervention services are provided at no cost.

    Training Clinic for Students

    The CCD is a vital component of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program (CMSD), operating as a training clinic for students in the CMSD graduate program under the supervision of master clinicians in the field of speech-language pathology. Under such supervision, student clinicians have the opportunity to work with individuals across the lifespan who present with a range of communication abilities and impairments.

Typical Disorder Areas

Beyond clinical education, the CCD is committed to serving the community by providing over 1,000 hours of evaluations and intervention each semester. Typical disorder areas include:

  • apraxia
  • dysarthria
  • voice
  • fluency
  • expressive and receptive language
  • reading
  • pragmatics
  • cognition
  • hearing loss

Donations Welcome!

The CCD welcomes donations, which directly support and contribute to the successful clinical education of CMSD graduate students and the services provided to the clients. The CCD successfully operates on $16,000 annually. Every donation is greatly appreciated and makes a significant difference in helping the CCD continue its mission.

Cash or Checks
Donations in any amount can be made a number of ways:

  • cash and checks are accepted at the CCD office (AJH 100) or by mail to the Clinic for Communication Disorders at the above mailing address. Checks should be made out to University Foundation with “Fund 6884” on the memo line.
