Since 1999, the Computer Animation and Game Development Program (CAGD) has grown into one of the top 10 game design programs in the nation.

Computer Animation and Game Development touts itself as a program well-versed in articulating its students to a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry rooted between technology and creativity. Students can pick between three pathways: Animation, CGI, or Game Development.

Explore Our Minors

    3D Digital Modeling and Environments Minor

    Develop and practice skills in digital modeling with courses focused in 3D digital sculpting, 3D scanning and photogrammetry, digital texturing, and character modeling.

    Computer Animation Minor

    Build a foundation in animation, including courses in 2D and 3D digital animation, game animation, and 3D motion capture. Learn the principles of animation and visual story development.

    Video Game Design Minor

    Focus on the principles of level design, game scripting, and the game production pipeline. Learn how to code for games and apply those skills to game engines.

    In-House Motion Capture Studio

    Our motion capture lab boasts a built-in OptiTrak system, where students suit up and work in teams to create animations. The lab is constantly improving with additional size-inclusive suits, professional crash pads, green screens, and student-made props.

    Hands-On Simulated Studios

    Learn the ropes of what it's like to be on a studio team. All CAGD majors are required to take a simulated studio course where they embrace the chaos of project management, unforeseen twists, and pointed critique all in a safe environment aiming to help them grow.

    Published Works

    Each semester, students will publish finished projects on the app store and track their progress with devlogs available for public play.

    Schedule an Advising Appointment

    Appointments can be scheduled at any time during the academic year. Mandatory Advising is required in the Spring semester for all CAGD students in order to register for the following term's classes.
