Internships and Professional Development

Internship Requirement for CAGD Majors

Internships are mandatory for all Computer Animation and Game Development majors regardless of being on the Animation, CGI, or Game Development pathway. This is an opportunity to understand the industry firsthand while building professional network connections and gaining work experience.

A student must complete at least 3 units of Internship (150-180 hours of work) to graduate. This includes a paper detailing their internship experience and a presentation to a relevant Computer Animation and Game Development class about the work completed

Students must contact their CAGD advisor and receive approval before taking an internship for internship credit.

Below is a small sampling of places students can intern.

Peer Mentorship

Peer mentors want to hone their technical skills in the classroom while helping other students. Computer Animation and Game Development offers a set number of peer mentoring opportunities during the semester. Peer mentoring within this program counts as an internship.

If you are interested, please reach out to your program advisor and the faculty member you’re interested in working with.
