    Communication Sciences and Disorders

    The field of Communication Sciences and Disorders focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and research of human communication and its disorders.     Communication Studies

    Communication Studies allows students to explore diverse fields of focus, preparing them for advanced study or professional programs in communication. This discipline provides a strong foundation for those looking to deepen their expertise.

    Journalism and Public Relations

    Core journalistic skills are in high demand, as employers seek tech-savvy employees who can research, write, and edit professional work in an ever-evolving media landscape. The program is dynamic, expanding, and energized by the continual and rapid development of digital media technologies.

    Kinesiology

    Society is increasingly aware of the health implications of low physical activity. Kinesiology graduates are prepared for careers in exercise training, fitness, sports medicine, and more, blending theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.

    Liberal Studies

    The Liberal Studies program prepares students to be elementary teachers in California. We view learning as a transformative, socially interactive process. Engagement in this process requires critical inquiry, reflection, collaboration, and exploration of the connections between disciplines, society, and humanity.

    Media Arts, Design, and Technology

    The Media Arts, Design, and Technology department prepares students to be professionals and entrepreneurs in media and design. Our instruction focuses on the synergy of art, craft and technology.

    Recreation, Hospitality, and Parks Management

    Our graduates help people escape daily life by managing hotels, resorts, outdoor recreation, and tourism businesses. Through recreation therapy, children’s programs, and community activities, they improve lives and strengthen communities.

    School of Education

    We believe in the power of education to create a democratic, sustainable society that honors diversity and inclusion. The School of Education (SOE), in collaboration with community partners, supports the development of effective, reflective educators who value the identities of students, families, and communities.
