Student Teaching

Student teaching field placement interviews are assigned by the School of Education Field Placement Coordinator. Credential Candidates are not permitted to seek out their own student teaching field placements, however candidates are given the opportunity to submit placement preferences and requests for each placement cycle.

Credential candidates are assigned a field placement interview with a qualified Cooperating Teacher; it is up to the credential candidate to earn their invitation to student teach in that classroom.

Field placements are not confirmed until after a credential candidate has completed a successful field placement interview with their prospective Cooperating Teacher. 

Priority placements are reserved for candidates who submit a completed credential application to the School of Education by March 1st for Fall admission and October 1st for Spring admission. 

No credential candidate may receive a field placement interview assignment without completion of the Certificate of Clearance.
