The CIM program can offer financial assistance to every eligible CIM student, thanks to the ongoing support of a strong industry patron program of more than 50 companies and individuals. These generous Chico CIM Patrons graciously provide financial assistance each semester for eligible students to help students pursue their degrees in CIM at Chico State.
This financial assistance can help reduce the overall expense of schooling and is a reliable, renewable funding source if applicants continue to meet simple criteria every year.
Who can apply?
Full-time students can apply and must re-apply with a new application submitted each semester. Information regarding details and deadlines is shared with students at the beginning of each semester during the all-majors meeting.
Requirements:
- All applicants must fill out the questionnaire
- Applicants must have a 2.9 minimum GPA.
- There are no exclusions. Students may apply at any point in their program, whether they are a freshman in their first year or a “Super Senior” in their sixth year.
- Applicants are not required to submit any personal financial information. The financial assistance is open to all financial backgrounds.
When to apply:
This is available within the first 2-3 weeks of becoming a CIM student.
How to apply:
A questionnaire will be sent to all students enrolled in the CIM program with information about financial assistance available for the semester. For example, 2024 students (fall-spring) will have $2,000 available per semester and $4,000 for the year.
What can this financial assistance be used for?
While CIM encourages students to put funding towards school-related items, it is up to the recipient’s discretion. CIM Patrons chose the amount of this financial assistance to cover around 50% of tuition at the current rates. This is subject to change and will likely increase as tuition increases.
Important Notes:
Professors and program leaders have the right to allocate or deny the funds in special cases, i.e. in the event of a student taking advantage of the system or taking an excessively long time to complete the CIM program.
