The Peace Institute

Mission Statement

The Peace Institute at California State University, Chico exists to encourage the study and promotion of interpersonal, national, and international peace and justice. Our mission is to engage in endeavors that support and develop new opportunities for education and research in peace and justice issues for students and faculty, as well as all persons on our campus and in the community at large.

The Peace Institute at California State University, Chico was founded in 2004 by faculty and members of the community. Its purpose is to present speakers and activities addressing peace and war, social justice, sustainability, reconciliation, and peace education.
