Faculty Research

Faculty in the Mathematics and Statistics Department pursue a wide range of research across pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, and mathematics education. Their work spans topics such as commutative algebra, number theory, topology, graph theory, mathematical modeling of real-world systems, computational statistics, nonlinear partial differential equations, and data-driven analytical methods.
Many faculty members connect theory with practice by developing new approaches to modeling complex biological, physical, or environmental phenomena, while others advance statistical methodology or study how students learn mathematical ideas at all levels.
Students interested in research are encouraged to explore faculty expertise and contact professors directly. Reaching out by email or visiting during office hours is the best way to start a conversation about opportunities.
