Math Learning Lab

The Math Learning Lab offers free drop-in tutoring, course-specific support, and study resources to help students practice math, work through assignments, and build problem-solving skills.

Location and Hours

Location
4th floor of Meriam Library (MLIB)

Hours
Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Tutoring services start Monday, August 31 (second week of the semester)

*Closed: Monday, September 7 (Labor Day), Wednesday, November 11 (Veteran's Day), Monday-Friday November 23-27 (Fall Break), and Monday-Friday, December 14-18 (Finals Week)

How to use the Math Learning Lab

  • Sign in at the front desk of the Math Learning Lab 
  • Join a table for your course
  • With a tutor to help guide you, work on homework and practice math concepts
  • Bring your notes, calculator, textbooks or course materials, and laptop (if using an online learning system such as ALEKS, Pearson, or MyStatLab)
  • Movable whiteboards are available in the lab, along with supplies

Tutor Role

It is not the role of a tutor to give answers. Instead, tutors help teach skills in math that can be applied to assignments, class, studying, and preparing for exams. While the MLL tutors cannot guarantee that they can help with every problem, they will certainly try!
