EASY GAP is a website dedicated to food safety. Here you can find the educational tools and resources needed to easily develop a food safety plan for your organization.

Purpose

The Chico State Food Safety webpage has been created to support food safety education and outreach in the North State. Our founding food safety team bring expertise from the agricultural and retail industries. Our food safety experts provide the most updated research, federal and state guidelines, user-friendly training database, and innovative education strategies to farmers, students, food service and food industry staff.

If you want a Food Safety Plan, look no further. Over the next three years, the EASY GAP on-Farm Food Safety Program is here to help you. As an EASY GAP farmer, we will provide you with the following for FREE:

  • On-farm pre-assessment using our Food Safety Plan (FSP) self-verification checklist
  • Growing Area Map (using GIS technology)
  • Educational training and resources
    • Online videos and certificate of training
    • Customized food safety plan forms in Microsoft Word or Open Access versions
    • Updated with most current Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations and guidelines
  • Tablet ($75 value) to maintain and store your food safety plan
    • Pre-loaded with all EASY GAP food safety plan documents for viewing and editing
    • Internet/Wi-Fi enabled for viewing EASY GAP videos and other online resources
    • Includes keyboard and carrying case
  • Farm Planning Calendar development and assistance
  • On-farm assistance for food safety compliance
    • One-on-one assistance with each EASY GAP section
    • Water testing collection and laboratory fees
  • Third-party auditor-ready post assessment
