Seize the opportunity for an exciting and well-paying career in the evolving field of manufacturing. Master the use of robotics and automation to make production faster and more efficient. Learn how to use inventory management software to help companies track items through a warehouse or design robots to reduce costs on the production line.
This program teaches our graduates the technical, organizational, and leadership skills they need to solve problems and meet manufacturing challenges. Our hands-on learning approach means you get real-world experience working with robots and machines in our cutting-edge lab spaces, giving you an edge when you graduate.
Our curriculum uses hands-on technology, laboratories, business, and management methods to teach you about manufacturing, materials science, and robotics. You will also take technical electives taught by faculty who are subject matter experts.
Our program has a nearly 100% job placement rate—most of our students graduate from Chico State with a job offer. There are countless career opportunities in manufacturing, at both big and small companies. You can work in research, management, or production.
Some of the places our alumni work include:
The program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning. My favorite classes have extensive lab sections that allow me to work on pretty much every robot and machine on campus
Our program goes beyond the classroom. Benefit from learning opportunities that put your knowledge and skills into action through collaborative projects with industry partners or by engaging in cutting-edge research.
From creating a robotic manipulator for Amazon Web Services to developing a process for handing semiconductor material for GigaMat Technologies, you will design, build, and test solutions to real-world problems in this industry-sponsored program.
Work side-by-side with professors to conduct groundbreaking research, like making bioplastics from items like rice and straw bamboo. You will have access to laboratories, instruments, and equipment that mirror industry settings.
Join a BattleBots challenge or build autonomous rovers. You can make friends while growing your skills and network.
Wildcats put theory into practice in our 20 on-campus labs. Our students immerse themselves in professional practices in spaces like our Omron CoLab, Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics Lab, and Asphalt, Soils, and Concrete Lab, giving them a head start after graduation.
